Use Assistant and review proposed actions
Ask Assistant for help, complete guided requests, and review approval or connection prompts before anything proceeds.
Requires Assistant access in the school's plan and your role.
Use Assistant to investigate work, prepare a next step, and approve only the exact action you intend.
Available to
Internal users with Assistant access can use it. The Assistant still follows the permissions, plan limits, and school safeguards of the person using it.
Before you start
- Know the outcome you want, but include enough context for Assistant to identify the correct school, person, lesson, invoice, or date range.
- Do not paste passwords, full card numbers, or other secrets into a conversation.
- Expect sensitive work to pause for information, authorization, or approval.
Steps
- Select Assistant on the right side of the dashboard. Maximize it if you need more room.
- Start a conversation and describe the outcome in plain language, such as “Find students with no upcoming lessons and suggest the next follow-up.”
- Review Assistant's response and any linked records. Correct the school, person, amount, date, or scope before continuing.
- If an Assistant form appears, complete the required fields. Use Continue for a multi-step request and Back to revise an earlier step.
- Add constraints in Additional notes when needed. Submit the form using the button shown for that request.
- If Approval required appears, read the complete summary, including who or what will change. Select Approve only when it matches your intent.
- To revise an approval, enter the required note and select Request changes. Assistant will continue with your correction instead of treating the earlier proposal as approved.
- If a service connection is requested, review what is being connected and choose Connect or Decline.
- Check the final response and open the affected record to verify the result. A drafted recommendation is not the same as a completed change.
What happens next
Assistant continues the conversation with the information or decision you supplied. Completed work should appear in the normal dashboard record, where it can be checked independently. Pending input may also create a notification.
If you do not see this option
- Assistant may not be included in the school's plan or enabled for your role.
- A request can be read-only if it belongs to an older or archived conversation.
- Approve stays unavailable until all required approval fields are valid.
- Request changes requires a note explaining what should change.
- External messaging and billing safeguards still apply; Assistant cannot bypass them.
- Ask an owner or admin to confirm access if Assistant is missing.
